The Farmers
The Families Who Grow Your Food

As demand for Avalon Acres′ products has grown, we found we could not possibly do everything and supply all the product that was in demand. It was just Tim and myself raising all the livestock, tending the farm, butchering, marketing, accounting and delivering to Nashville a couple times a week. We needed help!
About this time we were approached by a couple of Amish families who were looking for a way to stay in small farming but also sell their products in a way that would enable them to stay on their farms. They asked if we could help them. We needed them and they needed us! We shared stories, lessons, tips, laughter and tears. We have become very very close to these families and continue welcoming new growers all the time.
We work with three different Amish communities. We have an amazing relationship with them that has taken many years to develop. We work together to solve problems and increase productivity and quality. Our farm produces chicken, eggs, pork and lamb. We hope by Springtime we′ll also be preserving the harvest, baking and producing added value products to what we do. Our Amish families raise the produce, eggs, beef, baked and preserved goods.
In 2004, we started our partnerships with several Amish farming families. We now have over 40 families involved in producing great Tennessee foods for Avalon Acres Farms. Most of our farmers live and farm without the use of electricity. Your support has so greatly and directly impacted the lives of these hard-working folks. If they could they′d give you a big cyber-hug to thank you!
