If you are a customer of ours, chances are you have met or will meet (lucky you!) our employees. We feel lucky to know them! They feel lucky to know us too! You would not believe how difficult it was to get them to sit still long enough to take a picture! 

We bribed them (chocolate chip cookies and puppies do wonders!) Oh c′mon who doesn′t love puppies?  I mean to actually have a job where you can play with pigs and hold puppies while eating cookies?  Read below, you′ll recognize your delivery folks as well as get to know some of the guys behind the scenes.  

Chris manages all of our many wide and varied Operations. He also loves his wife, Dawn. Chris works directly with our Production Supervisor, Tommy and our Farm Supervisor, Yordy. He′s particularly good at the cheering part. Who couldn′t use some cheering in mid-July out in the scalding heat?  Now...while Angel is an angel, Mr. Monk is not a monk. He′s not really an angel either, but that′s neither here nor there. Actually his first name is FLOYD but I′m not supposed to.... er.... oops. This is Chris′ second year too... and we are excited because he′s going to be a large part of our growth.

Tommy is our Production Supervisor and he is responsible for making sure you get your CSA shares and that they look and taste yummy.

He is also responsible for the delivery drivers and all the Amish farmers. We′re running him crazy and the Amish farmers are enjoying getting to know Tommy as we all have been.

Tommy is born and raised here in Hohenwald and worked at Nissan in Smyrna as well as the local Highland Youth Center. Tommy has children and Angela, his sweet and very understanding wife.

Yordy is our Farm Supervisor. He is responsible for all of the farm operations here in Hohenwald.

This includes all of the meats such as our beef, pork, lamb, egg, turkey and chicken production. He is also responsible for all of the vehicle, equipment, fence maintenance, etc. Yordy is a jack of all trades and is always buzzing around the farm making sure everyone is happy, fed and healthy. He is one of the happiest, most energetic people we know and thank goodness for that because there′s a lot to do on the farm. We′re considering setting up a cot here in the office lol.

This is Dawn. She′s also Chris′ wife... he found her first.

Things get done when Dawn is around. She is our right arm and the place just wouldn′t function like it does without her. Every company needs a Dawn! If we ask her to do it... it′s going to get done. This will be her second year with us... and hopefully many more to come. 

Dawn is the one who creates all the invoices and packing lists so if you email us, changes are you′ll be talking with her at some point.  Lucky you.  :)

Kenny is our key farming guy.  We love Kenny!  He is dependable, hard working, never complains and is one of the strongest men here on the farm. 

Kenny is responsible for feeding, watering and attending to all the animals on the farm (this includes our livestock guardian dogs, llamas, horse, donkey, egg laying chickens, meat chickens, barnyard birds, ducks, geese, pigs and a peacock).

He also spends two days a week butchering and packaging poultry.  His primary job is to raise meat chickens and then butcher and package them for our customers.  He works outside all summer long and is such a hard worker!

Ricky Rone is our oldest employee, I mean... most senior...hmm he′s been with us the longest!  Ricky was with us when there was practically no us! He has stuck it out through thick and thin and has been riding this roller coaster with us. He′s endured the growing pains most new companies endure and he′s still here! Ricky wins the loyalty award, he′s the only one allowed in our jacuzzi when we travel out of town. Now that′s a dedicated employee! That′s also why he′s smiling.  We love Ricky!

Army is not only one of our delivery drivers but he also works on the farm and at the builds making boxes of food!

His given name is Armand... when we saw his name we knew we just had to meet him.  Army does a fantastic job for us and is always willing to do whatever is needed to be done.  In fact, the photo of Army here is two days after the big flood and he was working hard repairing some of our fencing.

I also am particularly fond of Army because he hails from New England and has that most wicked awesome accent that reminds me of home.
